Our Forestation Project at Taranga Hills

Objective: To restore degraded lands and promote sustainable environmental practices through community engagement and technological innovation.

The project was divided into :

Phase 1: Local communities produce seed balls using organic materials.

Phase 2: Broadcasting of seed balls using drones to cover vast and difficult terrains.

The project involved extensive planning to ensure seed selection suited to the soil and climate, careful route mapping for effective coverage, and an assessment of wind and weather patterns for optimal results. 

Team Vanya Velocity undertook a challenging yet impactful reforestation project on the rugged terrain of Taranga Hill. The hill's landscape, known for its steep slopes and rocky areas, made traditional planting methods nearly impossible and posed high risks to workers. However, with the use of our advanced drones and a dedicated team of trained pilots, engineers, and planners, we overcame these difficulties.

Our drones, equipped with precision seed-dispersing mechanisms, were able to cover large areas that are otherwise inaccessible, dispersing seeds uniformly to maximize germination. This operation not only demonstrated our technical capabilities but also highlighted how technology can lead the way in reforestation efforts in challenging environments.

To address the steep slopes and rocky surfaces, we used multi-rotor drones capable of stable flight in rugged and uneven landscapes. Each drone was outfitted with LIDAR sensors and real-time imaging systems, allowing our team to assess the land in real time and make adjustments as needed. For safety and efficiency, we implemented an automated return-to-base feature, ensuring drones could safely return when low on battery or payload.

Our engineering team programmed custom flight plans for each section of the hill, factoring in variables like wind speed, altitude changes, and areas with dense vegetation. Our skilled pilots, trained in handling drones in such conditions, were able to execute these plans seamlessly. As a result, we were able to seed even the hardest-to-reach areas, maximizing coverage and making a significant step forward in the reforestation of Tarnaga Hill.

This technologically advanced approach allowed us to overcome the terrain’s natural challenges while ensuring a high success rate in seed dispersal and germination, setting a new standard for reforestation in difficult environments.
